Charlotte Church and Steven Johnson
Charlotte Church and Steven Johnson split up last year
Singer Charlotte Church's ex-boyfriend has appeared in court accused of possessing an offensive weapon.

Steven Johnson from Cardiff has been charged with possessing a pair of martial arts weapons in Barry.

The 19-year-old denied the charge when he appeared before magistrates in the town on 8 March.

He has been remanded on unconditional bail ahead of his trial in May.

The DJ and former model from the Butetown area of Cardiff is charged with possessing a pair of nunchucks - martial arts weapons consisting of two sticks linked by a chain - at The Knap in Barry on 1 March.

When he appeared before magistrates on 8 March Mr Johnson denied they belonged to him and claimed he was not aware they were there.

He reappeared at the court on Tuesday. The case was adjourned for trial on 12 May.

Mr Johnson split up with Church in December after she found out he had been seeing someone else.
