Sentencing of man who caused 75,000 worth of damage when he smashed shop windows dressed only in his underpants has been delayed again.
Cardiff Crown Court heard on Monday that there was still no bed available in a psychiatric unit for 30-year-old Andrew Roxberry.
In February this year, Roxberry was dressed only in his underwear when he wandered through Cardiff City Centre in the early hours of the morning.
After throwing a bottle at one shop window, he then picked up a workman's spade and continued smashing front windows along Queen Street - the city's main shopping street.
At an earlier hearing, he admitted 23 charges of criminal damage after being caught on CCTV cameras.
Peter Davies, defending, told the court that Roxberry needed to be admitted to a hospital because of his state of mind but there was no bed available for him in south Wales.
"The present situation is exasperating," he said. "There is no room at the inn locally."
Explaining that Roxberry from Cardiff, had been in custody now for 176 days, he added: "To my eyes he is unwell. He simply will not communicate with myself or the solicitor ... he seems unable to express himself to other people."
Judge Roderick Denyer QC issued a request for an officer from the local health authority to attend court to explain why no bed was available for Roxberry.
"I am conscious of the fact that this man remains locked up," he said.
"I will adjourn the case for two weeks to enable someone from the local health authority to attend and explain personally why no bed is available locally because that is where I think you ought to be."
Roxberry was remanded in custody until 18 August.
