Owzat! Andrew Lewis dismissed the opposition for just 29 runs |
A schoolboy cricketer has bowled over the opposition by bowling out their entire adult team. Sixteen-year-old Andrew Lewis, from Merthyr Tydfil, needed just 15 overs - four of them maidens - to take all ten wickets when he faced the grown-ups in a South Wales Cricket Association league match.
The oldest victim of the teenager's medium-pace attack, 65-year-old Peter Swain, said: "No-one was really embarrassed to get out to him - we were just amazed - you could tell this young lad was something special."
Opponents Dyffryn were out for 120 runs Andrew took the last wicket with the final ball of the game - before an innings of 20 not-out clinched a win for Hills Plymouth Seconds.
Seven of his targets were bowled, two went to catches and the final victim went out on an lbw decision.

Andrew, who hopes his feat will land him a place in the first team, said: "I was absolutely delighted.
"After getting seven wickets I started getting nervous, but then I just switched off and concentrated on bowling.
"I got the last wicket with my final ball and everyone was chuffed to bits. I am hoping to be in the firsts now thanks to this."
Dyffryn were able to score 29 runs during Andrew's bowling blitzkrieg.
Dismissals
Mr Swain has nothing by admiration for the schoolboy who has sliced through his team's ranks.
He said: "We had players up to my age batting against him.
"Most of our players were adults with quite a bit of experience, but we'd never seen anything like it.
"In some ways it was a nice way to lose, being on the receiving end of something like that.
"He bowled very accurately, I think he's got a good future ahead of him."
Andrew is thought to be the third player in the 50-club association to achieve a clean sweep of dismissals.
