Ice cream manufacturer Loseley is to expand production and create up to 60 additional jobs at a site in south east Wales. The Cardiff-based company is switching from two sites to one purpose-built factory at Cwmbran, near Newport, developing its three ice cream brands, Thayers, Loseley and Yorkshire Dales.
Managing director Tim Wilson said the new facility at a 78,000 sq ft factory at Llantarnam Business Park was an important step forward for the company.
The firm has an existing workforce of 40 staff and produces ice cream for customers ranging from supermarket chains such as Morrisons and Sainsbury to theatres across the UK.
Loseley intends to combine the latest production technology with facilities harnessing nature - including a reed bed for natural treatment of organic waste.

It is intended the site will also have a lake for cooling water used by the plant.
"It will make us very energy efficient," said Mr Wilson.
"Contracts have been placed for a new, fully automated mix plant
"We are aiming to create 100 jobs in total.
