| Friday, 10 January, 2003, 17:41 GMT Wife retraces missing husband's steps ![]() Richard Davies has been missing for three weeks A woman whose husband went missing during Christmas celebrations in Cardiff is to walk the city streets on Friday night appealing for information. Richard Davies, 39, from Blaenavon, was last seen shortly before 2300 GMTon 20 December, when he became separated from his friends.
His wife Michelle will hand out leaflets to taxi and bus drivers in an attempt to find out if anyone saw him. She is also putting up appeal posters featuring a picture of Mr Davies and a description of what he was wearing on the night. "I'm going to be in Cardiff approaching taxi drivers because, if he did leave Cardiff, he would have had to have left in some form of transport," said Mrs Davies. "Taxis are the obvious choice. "I went to Cardiff last Friday where we took more posters because we hope someone will recognise him and give us some information. "We haven't had any information since I reported him missing - he has basically disappeared off the face of the earth. "We have had no new leads with the police and we are more than desperate to find him," she said. The couple's children Justin, 13, and Charlotte, 10, are distressed about their father's disappearance.
"Christmas wasn't a great time for us - it came and went as everything else does for us," said Mrs Davies. "I'm hoping that the posters and leaflets will trigger a memory with someone who saw him and can put him in a place and time for me. "Going into Cardiff was a treat for him - it was his Christmas works do. "It is so strange - two days before he went missing he had booked a family holiday to Australia. "I just need to know where he is," she said. Separated On the day that Mr Davies went missing, he left home at 0900 GMT for his party.
He and his friends first went go-karting in Newport at midday then caught the 1600 GMT train to Cardiff where they drank at a number of city centre bars and pubs. He was last seen at a bar called Reflex in St Mary St. At the time, he was wearing navy trousers and a light blue shirt. Mr Davies is described as being 5ft 11 inches tall, of medium build and with brown hair. Gwent Police officers are liaising with South Wales Police in their investigation to trace Mr Davies.
