Youngsters safe after coach crash
Ruthin town centre
Roads around Ruthin have been closed
A motorist has been taken to hospital after his car was in collision with a coach carrying schoolchildren in Denbighshire.

The accident happened in Well Street, Ruthin at around 0830 GMT on Monday morning.

None of the pupils were injured in the collision and they were able to attend school as normal during the morning

Denbighshire County Council spokesman

A North Wales Police spokeswoman said none of the children, who attend Ysgol Brynhyfryd in Ruthin, had been hurt.

Roads surrounding the scene were closed to traffic, causing major congestion and disruption in areas of the town.

Well Street and Rhos Street were reopened later in the day.

The driver of the car was taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan - a police spokeswoman said his injuries were not serious.

A spokesman for Denbighshire County Council confirmed the children on the coach were unharmed.

"The pupils that were travelling on the school bus were from the Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd and Pwllglas areas," he said.

"They were on their way to Ysgol Brynhyfryd when the collision occurred.

"None of the pupils were injured in the collision and they were able to attend school as normal during the morning," he added.
