Kylie's designer-made costumes were dazzling

The Brit-award winning singer emerged from a Terminator-style robot in her trademark thigh-high silver boots.

Kylie - whose mother was born in Maesteg, south Wales - was due to play three more nights in the Welsh capital before heading off around the UK.

She will perform in Manchester, Birmingham and Sheffield, ending the UK leg of her tour at London's Wembley Arena on 27 May.

The 33-year-old singer is already a trendsetter with her sparkling micro-miniskirt, bra top, choker and matching wrist bands.

Her stage outfits - designed by Dolce & Gabbana - included a Moulin Rouge style corset.

They were inspired by the futuristic 70s movie A Clockwork Orange, and sci-fi TV shows Star Trek and Dr Who.

Kylie caused a stir when she performed in her thigh-length silver boots and a bodiced microdress at the Brit Awards in February.

The former Neighbours actress won prizes for Best International Female and Best International Album for Fever.

Family ties

One man who was sorry to miss the opening night of the tour was Kylie's uncle Dennis Riddiford - her closest relative in Wales.

The 74-year-old from Maesteg, south Wales, is currently in Australia visiting his sister - Kylie's grandmother.

Before he left Wales, he said: "It's really bad timing - I'm off to Australia to see Kylie's nan, and Kylie is in Wales.

"I'd love to be at the concert in Cardiff singing along with all her other fans.

"Kylie said we could have as many tickets as we want, and, of course, we'd get to have a chat with her afterwards.

"But I'd already booked my holiday when I knew about the concert, so it was too late to change."
