The series takes the viewers on a journey of sexual exploration through the regions of Wales.

It tackles questions such as: How many people have had sex in the back of a car? Does size matter more to women in Cardiff than Llangefni? And what is the average infidelity rate amongst Welsh men?

The series is to reveal that on average, Welsh people have had nine sexual partners, although this varies between ages.

A total of 59% of those surveyed said that sex was an important part of their life.

Only half said they practised safe sex but among those aged 18-24 years, the figure was 60%.

The programme also found that sex in Wales lasts on average for 23.5 minutes, two people in five have been unfaithful to their partners at some time while one in three have had sex with a work colleague.

Presenters Stifyn Parry and Lisa Reich have talked to hundreds of Welsh people, both Welsh and non-Welsh speakers, about all aspects of sex.

The result is a candid discussion on what was once a taboo subject.

Producer Emyr Glasnant from production company Einstein Entertainment, said: "The aim of the series was for the first time on television to really discuss all aspects of sex totally openly and honestly, through the help of this important sex survey.

"We wanted to make sex much less of a taboo subject.

"We have interviewed a number of experts in the subject as well as individuals about their own experiences.

"We were genuinely surprised at how forthcoming some people were.

"The great thing is that the series talks about sex without inhibitions and is entertaining at the same time."

"The Welsh have a reputation for being rather shy when it comes to talking about sex, and Welsh speakers in particular seemed a bit slow in coming forward.

"Many of the interviews took place on the National Eisteddfod field in Denbigh last summer, and you could see the look of horror and panic on some faces when asked some straight questions.

"But those who did talk, talked quite openly and intimately and that reveals something about the Welsh people too.

"When we open up, we open up big time."

The survey was conducted in eight towns and cities in Wales in summer 2001 with a representative sample of the population of every age and both genders.

Market researchers visited Aberystwyth, Brecon, Cardiff, Carmarthen, Llangefni, Rhyl, Swansea and Wrexham.
