| Friday, 16 November, 2001, 20:16 GMT Stolen lorry pursuit ends with arrest ![]() Two of the damaged cars at the Rassau roundabout A local man in his 20s has been arrested by Gwent Police in relation to an incident in which a stolen lorry crashed into four cars, including a police car, on Friday morning. The stolen lorry was driven the wrong way around the A465 Rassau roundabout, Tredegar, when it was involved in a collision with a police car and three other vehicles, police said. A police spokesman said the Mercedes lorry was taken from a business at Cannop in the Forest of Dean near Cinderford, Gloucestershire, early on Friday morning.
The lorry was being driven along the A465 Heads of the Valleys road at 0700GMT when it allegedly went the wrong way round a roundabout. It collided with four cars, badly damaging three, including a South Wales Police car, said a police spokesman. One person in one of the vehicles is believed to have suffered minor injuries and was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny for treatment. A man was arrested and taken to Blackwood police station for questioning. |
