Snooker star banned from golf club
Mark Williams has been given a life ban from the golf club
Mark Williams has dismissed claims of bad behaviour
Snooker World number one Mark Williams has denied reports that he behaved badly on a golf course, which resulted in a lifetime ban from the club.

Complaints were made that a group which included Williams had sworn and shouted at the golf course near Usk, south east Wales.

Women club members claimed Williams and three friends were behaving badly as they played a round at the Woodlake Park Golf Course at Glascoed.

Mr Doyle said the matter was now in the hands of his solicitor.

But the player's manager, Ian Doyle, said Williams was denying the allegations.

Earlier, the course owner Doug Wood had discovered the party had not paid the proper green fees after pretending to have been introduced by a club members.

Complaints

Mr Wood said that when he told them that the members names they had given were non-existent, the party threw the extra 29 at him.

He took the decision to permanently exclude them after the subsequent complaints.

He then wrote a private letter to other golf clubs to tell them what had happened.

Mr Wood said he had not leaked the story to the press and he declined to comment further on the matter.
