The Royal Irish Regiment was travelling to exercises

The troops, including three Gurkhas, were taken to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny, Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil and Morriston Hospital in Swansea.

An army spokesman said none had serious injuries, although the injuries of two soldiers were more serious than the rest. Most have now been discharged.

Last January, another troop carrier with sixteen soldiers on board overturned on training exercises on the Sennybridge firing range.

A week later, a soldier was shot in the back during an exercise on the firing range.

The army has launched an inquiry into today's incident.
