Rob Brydon presenting See You Sunday in 1993

After years of thinking he had missed the boat, Rob's fortunes have been transformed since moving to London.

His two recent series for BBC Two are wowing the critics and are the result of backing from comedian Steve Coogan - who happens to be Brydon's hero.

In Marion and Geoff, Brydon plays Keith the cabbie - whose wife Marion is having a torrid affair with Geoff.

The comedy is in Keith's relentless determination to see the bright side.

In his current series, Human Remains, Brydon joins forces with Julia Davis - who also trained at the Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Slow rise to success

Together they conjure up another succession of unfortunate relationships. TV reviewers have been bowled over by Brydon's talent.

He confessed that his comic talent stems from his acting ability.

"For Human Remains, Julia and I just sat down with my video camera and just started talking to each other in character," he said.

But fame has taken its time.

In the early 1990s, he presented See You Sunday on BBC Wales.
