The rising cost of oil has had a significant impact on fuel prices |
A conference to discuss the impact of rising oil costs on the people of Stirling is to be held in the city. Organiser Rachel Nunn, the co-founder of Going Carbon Neutral Stirling, said the event would look at the effects of fuel costs.
Titled Peak Oil and Carbon Emissions, the conference will also focus on the consequences for every day life.
The term "peak oil" refers to the production of oil and how demand is set to outstrip supply in future years.
Many analysts have commented that world oil production has already peaked, signalling the beginning of a decline in its availability.
Guest speaker Ben Brangwyn, from the Transition Town Network, will give a talk on the implications of higher oil costs for individuals, communities and business.
The free event is due to take place on 4 December at Stirling's Municipal Buildings, Corn Exchange Road, from 1430 GMT.
