Councils consult on future vision
Residents in Clackmannanshire and Stirling have been asked for their views on plans to boost housing and the economy in the two areas.

An 18-year vision has also predicted the need for more land for jobs in business and shopping and several transport developments.

The draft structure plan would play a key part in any decision taken by the councils after the elections.

A series of public events is being staged to publicise the proposals.

Under the plan, Clackmannanshire's forecasted population decline would be tackled with the construction of more than 1,000 houses and land for development.

Stirling Council said it hoped to expand the city centre to meet the needs of a "growing population" - but may have to come at the expense of greenbelt land.
