Approval for major homes scheme
Plans for a major development of 239 homes near Falkirk have been approved.

The proposals at Maddiston, which have been given the green light by the local authority, also include providing a site for a new school.

Some residents had raised concerns that they would place too much pressure on the area's existing health and education services.

But Falkirk Council planning officials said the development was acceptable, provided that there were safeguards.
