Strike-hit council resumes work
Office worker - generic
Many council services were hit by the walkout
Services at Falkirk Council have been getting back to normal after hundreds of staff walked out amid a pay dispute.

Staff took a day of industrial action on Monday after claiming new contracts brought forward under equal pay laws were forced on them.

The GMB Scotland, T&G and Unison unions have not ruled out further strike action on the issue.

Falkirk Council said the offer was required to meet the legislation and that the unions' demands had been met.

The walkout caused the closure of services including housing and social work offices, libraries, sports centres and community halls.
