Police in drink-drive crackdown
Tayside Police sign
Officers attended 131 crashes in the first week of the campaign
Tayside Police officers have arrested 19 drink-drivers in the first week of the festive crackdown.

One man was caught in Dundee after being spotted by the force's road policing head, Ch Insp Sandy Bowman, who was off-duty at the time.

He said: "It is unacceptable for any person to put lives at risk and the vast majority of the public will no longer tolerate this behaviour."

One woman was also arrested for being unfit to drive through drug use.

Police said six of those caught were between three and four times over the legal limit.

During the first week of the campaign, Tayside Police officers also dealt with 131 crashes.
