Coach ordered to appear in court
Valdas Ivanauskas
Valdas Ivanauskas admitted the offence in a letter
Absent Hearts head coach Valdas Ivanauskas has been ordered to return to Scotland after he was caught speeding at 97mph.

Ivanauskas, understood to be on stress-related leave in Lithuania, has been told to turn up at Perth District Court to be sentenced next month.

He admitted the offence, on the M90 in Perthshire on 8 October, in a letter sent to the court.

The manager now faces a driving ban after he was caught by police.

Roadside check

A photocopy of Ivanauskas's licence was sent to the court on official Hearts notepaper, along with his letter from Vilnius dated 16 November.

He wrote: "I would like to state that I am not in the country for yet an unforeseeable amount of time due to my health condition."

Ivanauskas, who was ordered to appear personally in court, was caught driving past a roadside speed check area in his Audi and was pulled over by officers near Crook of Devon.

Fiscal depute Dawn Samson told the court: "He is not the holder of a UK driving licence and will require to be present."
