Police issue winter safety plea
Police said they would be targeting dangerous drivers in Central Scotland as the region's force launched its winter safety campaign.

Officers said that, as well as drink drivers, motorists failing to wear seatbelts and using mobile phones while driving would also be in the spotlight.

Central Scotland Police said the move also aimed to raise awareness.

Ch Insp Donald McMillan, head of the roads unit, said: "This campaign has the potential to save lives."
