Sauchie's problems have been caused mainly by teenagers |
Tough action to tackle a Clackmannanshire trouble hot-spot has seen a major reduction in street crime, according to police. However the fall in the village of Sauchie came amid an increase in incidents of disorder within homes.
A month after a dispersal order was enforced, vandalism offences fell by about 76%.
The action was taken in a bid to combat the misery which gangs of teenagers were causing local residents.
Central Scotland Police also said calls to report anti-social behaviour in the community had fallen by 20%.
Clackmannanshire area commander Supt Gavin Buist said officers were dealing with less street disorder since the powers to move on groups of more than two people came into force.
But he added: "There appears to be more disorder happening in houses.
"This is something we are committed to keeping a close eye on, particularly patterns of repeat incidents at certain houses."
The force has continued to receive complaints about large groups of youths congregating in Sauchie.
Supt Buist said: "We definitely acknowledge that it can be very intimidating to see large groups in the community and this is something that officers are proactively targeting."
