Accident blackspot inquiry call
Roads bosses have asked for an investigation of an Angus route which has seen a number of recent accidents.

The most recent incident on the A926 road, near the Forfar bypass, claimed the lives of a husband and wife.

Transport Scotland has now asked trunk roads operator Bear Scotland to consider if action needs to be taken at Lochlands junction.

Several improvements have already been carried out in the area in a bid to cut the number of road accidents.

Bear has been asked to make recommendations before March 2007.

Ian Hunter, 62, and his wife Ann, 61, died after their car collided with a bus on the A926 Forfar to Kirriemuir road on 14 September.
