A famous centre for cancer patients has been featured on a set of stamps celebrating the best of the country's modern architecture. The Maggie's Centre in Dundee, designed by architect Frank Gehry, is featured on the 42p European postcard stamp.
The stamp was one of several issued by Royal Mail as part of National Architecture Week.
The centre, opened in 2003, is based at Ninewells Hospital to help support cancer sufferers and their families.
'Bowled over'
David Lorimer, a Dundee Based Royal Mail delivery office manager, has raised more than 10,000 for the centre.
"Staff in Dundee are extremely pleased that Maggie's Centre features on a stamp that will be hopefully delivered all across Europe when visitors send back their postcards from all across Britain," he said.
"But the centre also has a serious side and carries out some fantastic work with people who need it at a very important time in their lives."
The centre's fundraising co-ordinator, Valerie Busher, added: "We are bowled over that the Maggie's Centre was chosen to be included in the set of modern architecture stamps and it is a real honour."
