A campaign aiming to boost visitors to a historic Central Scotland town is moving up a gear. Friends of Kinneil, which is backing the development of Kinneil Estate in Bo'ness near Falkirk, is aiming to take advantage of its Roman roots.
The group will elect a ruling committee and draw up a constitution to place it on a firmer footing.
It is also backing efforts by expert Dr David Breeze to win World Heritage status for the Antonine Wall.
'New visitors'
The wall runs 37 miles from Bo'ness to Old Kilpatrick in West Dunbartonshire
The Kinneil Estate is also the site of a Roman fortlet.
"Some local people have probably visited the fortlet at Kinneil Estate, but not realised that there are other Roman sites around Bo'ness," said a spokesman for the friends group.
"Winning World Heritage status will bring new visitors to Bo'ness."
The Antonine Wall, which was the Roman empire's most northerly frontier, was constructed on the orders of the Emperor Antoninus Pius.
