Calvin Harris has started posting videos of celebrities opening jam |
A spoof television channel showing celebrities opening jam jars has racked up thousands of hits on the internet. Dance pop artist Calvin Harris launched Jam TV after his own experience of being filmed trying to remove a lid. He has since persuaded stars including Katy Perry, Keith Lemon, Tony Robinson and Goldie to follow suit. The Youtube videos by the Dumfries musician have been viewed more than 60,000 times since the first one was posted at the beginning of July. Harris announced plans about three weeks ago on his Twitter page for "an entire channel devoted to showing your favourite celebrities opening jam". It followed his own difficulties getting a lid off a jar for an ITV interview. The first episode features Harris in a hotel room opening a packet of biscuits and a carton of milk. Since then he has filmed a number of celebrities with jam jars including Florence Welch, the lead singer of Florence and the Machine, during T in the Park. The channel has also spawned a number of imitation videos recorded by members of the public and also posted on YouTube.
