Officials have recommended plans are rejected

PM Renewables wants to site 22 turbines at Drone Hill, lying beside the A1107 which links Eyemouth to the A1.

Officials claim it would adversely affect the landscape around Coldingham.

A final decision will be taken by members of Scottish Borders Council's development and building control committee on Monday.

John Lamont, Conservative MSP for Roxburgh and Berwickshire, said that, following a visit to the site, he had concerns about the location of the proposed development.

"Our natural landscape makes the Borders a beautiful place to live and that is something we should work hard to preserve," he said.

"I also think it is important that the views of residents are properly taken into consideration, and I hope that is the case as councillors from the planning committee visit the site today."

The government's emphasis on supporting wind power over other renewable sources, should also be questioned, he added.
