'Turbo blast' video posted on web
'Turbo blast' footage
The footage claims to be of a quiet road in Dumfries and Galloway
Footage of a driver taking a "turbo blast" along a remote rural road in Dumfries and Galloway has been posted on a video-sharing website.

The film shows a two-seat sports car speeding down the quiet B-road in the south west Scotland countryside.

On a number of occasions the vehicle crosses the white lines and takes corners on the wrong side of the road.

A police spokesman said they were aware of the video and were concerned by the "growing trend" for such filming.

The video has been posted on the YouTube website.

It shows a car revving off down the minor route and brushing close to bushes on the wrong side of the road.

It is only a matter of time before somebody is killed or seriously injured
Police spokesman

Nearly four minutes of the "turbo blast" is available to be viewed.

A spokesman for Dumfries and Galloway Police said they were aware that there were increasing numbers of people filming such actions to post on the internet.

"We are concerned that this seems to be a growing trend," he said.

"It is a concern that we have drivers who think it is acceptable to do this kind of thing on a public road.

"It is only a matter of time before somebody is killed or seriously injured."

YouTube does not comment on individual videos.
