The Galashiels duo perform versions of The Proclaimers' hits |
A Galashiels double act has become an internet hit with its own video versions of songs by The Proclaimers. Michael Dobson and Greig Rutherford have attracted more than 10,000 views on YouTube for their spoof songs.
The pair, both 26, posted a couple of tracks and have since seen them attract 5,000 viewers each.
Their version of Letter from America is entitled Brochure from the Matalan and is a tribute to their home town in the Scottish Borders.
In the clips, the duo sing their own lyrics and don matching rugby tops to visit the town where they grew up.
 | I'm overwhelmed by the response we've had |
Michael said he was delighted when their latest clips started racking up the hits on YouTube.
"We had no idea our wee films would become so popular," he said.
"I'm overwhelmed by the response we've had.
"I get emails from people I haven't seen for years who enjoyed them."
Brochure from the Matalan tells the story of one of their friends who moved from Langlee to Haliburton in the town.
They have also performed a version of Let's Get Married entitled Oor Frae Galy in tribute to the area.
Next hit
Despite Greig currently being on a working break in Australia, the pair are working on their next YouTube hit.
"I'm doing half over here while he does his half in Australia," said Michael.
"I'm going to Australia in July to run the Gold Coast marathon and that will be the final sequences of the new film.
"Greig is only doing the half-marathon so he should be finished first and will be able to use the camera."
