Plea to join post office debate
Postmasters and residents across Dumfries and Galloway are being urged to take part in a major consultation on the future of the post office network.

It comes after the government announced that up to 2,500 UK post offices could close as part of a restructuring.

Tory MP David Mundell has highlighted his concerns over the proposals.

He urged locals to make their views known - including the implications of any closures. The consultation period ends on 8 March.

Mr Mundell said: "It is utterly important that postmasters and the general public make their views known to the government on the future of local post office services."
