Repeat offender numbers reduced
Young offender
Dumfries and Galloway has reduced the number of persistent offenders
Youth justice agencies in Dumfries and Galloway have reported a drop in the number of persistent young offenders.

The numbers have been cut by 6% but that is still short of a Scottish Executive target of 10%.

The executive sought a reduction in offenders under 16 who are referred to the children's reporter on five or more occasions in any six month period.

At national level the figures have risen but regional initiatives appear to be having greater success.
