The council has highlighted three key strengths of its bid |
A three-pronged bid has been prepared to further strengthen Stranraer's case to secure a casino licence. Dumfries and Galloway Council is to submit the additional information to the Casino Advisory Panel next week to support its plans.
It highlights the work already done on regeneration, the investment interest in the project and community support as the key strengths of the bid.
A final decision on the granting of licences is expected in December.
Stranraer is the only Scottish town left seeking a large casino licence.
It was recently ranked highly in the running to secure one of 16 licences up for offer across the UK.
Glasgow still hopes to get a licence for one of the regional "super casinos".
