Police to target speeding bikers
Biker
A campaign to cut the number of road deaths is under way
Speeding motorcyclists in Dumfries and Galloway are set to be targeted by a specialist camera.

The "commander system" has 360 degree vision to track bikers breaking the legal limit on the region's roads.

The local safety camera partnership is the only one in Scotland to have use of the equipment at present.

It will be used as part of a campaign to cut the number of road deaths and casualties by targeting known accident blackspots in the region.

In the last three years, a total of 113 accidents involving motorbikes has been recorded.
