Village to reopen its fuel pumps

A west coast community is due to reopen its village petrol station at the weekend after saving it from closure.

MP Charles Kennedy is due to officially start the pumps in a ceremony in Applecross on Saturday.

Residents raised funds to set up a limited liability community company to operate the business.

The shop which had run the pumps gave up that part of its business because of increasing costs. Lochcarron 12 miles away is the nearest petrol station.
