New plan for supermarket in city

Supermarket chain Tesco is to submit a fresh plan for a store in the Holm Mills area of Inverness.

It has outline planning permission for a 20,000 sq ft development on the site.

However, a new application is to be lodged with Highland Council for a smaller store and a number of "neighbourhood" facilities.

These would include a community hall and GP surgery. Holm Community Council chairman Steve Rodgers said the plans would be closely looked at.
