Boardroom honour for swim veteran

A veteran swimmer's dedication to the sport has been recognised by a Highlands swimming and fitness complex.

Inverness Leisure has renamed its newly refurbished boardroom after 85-year-old Alex Sutherland.

The Inverness Swimming Club stalwart remains a regular in the pool, and has won gold medals in the veteran sections of competitions.

Mr Sutherland said: "This is a very important thing to me in my life and I am deeply grateful."
