Site bought for new supermarket
Tesco said it has bought a town centre site in Tain, Ross-shire, for a proposed new supermarket.

The company said it intended to lodge a planning application for a 2,500 sq m store and petrol station with Highland Council soon.

Tesco said site near Shore Road and Station Road was purchased from AWG Developments for an undisclosed sum.

Plans for two supermarkets by Asda and builders Robertson already proposed for the town are subject to an inquiry.
