Lack of orders affects isles yard
The renewable energy fabrication yard at Arnish Point in Stornoway is to be run on a care and maintenance basis.

The move, starting from the end of this month, follows a lack of orders.

About 20 workers are finishing off a 16-wind turbine tower project for a Dutch company. Two contracts the yard bid for have still to be awarded.

Operators Camcal said the delay caused to "green" projects by the planning system had meant a dearth of fabrication work.
