HMS Daring seen through HMS Superb's periscope |
The Royal Navy's oldest operational attack submarine has completed sea trials following seven months of maintenance on the Clyde. HMS Superb was tested in what are known as Scottish Exercise Areas, which stretch from the Western Isles to the Isle of Man.
During the training, the submarine encountered HMS Daring - described as a new generation of surface warship.
The Royal Navy said HMS Superb's trials were a success.
The boat has returned to the Clyde to prepare for deployments from the end of summer.
HMS Daring is the first of the Royal Navy's new Type 45 destroyers and has also been under going sea trials.
