Remand inmate found dead in cell
A man has been found dead in a cell at Porterfield Prison in Inverness, the Scottish Prison Service has said.

Alan Mullin, from Tain, Easter Ross, had been remanded in custody after appearing at Tain Sheriff Court on 20 February.

The 34-year-old had been charged with a breach of the peace. Warders discovered his body on Friday morning.

A spokesman for the prison service said police and next of kin have been informed.
