Maggie's Highland Cancer Caring Centre is to win a major award

It is claimed the centre's distinctive design, based on the division of healthy cells in the body, encourages debate on cancer.

The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in Scotland (RICS) award for community benefit recognises the dramatic design of the building.

RICS Scotland said good buildings were more than just bricks and mortar.

The organisation involves professionals working in land, property, construction and environmental issues.

John Richmond, from the Maggie's Highlands Centre, said: "It's amazing to see our visitors' reactions as they enter this remarkable building designed by David Page of Page and Park.
