A Brazilian mustard bottle found washed up on a beach in St Kilda has been sold on eBay for 6.05. The bottle was among refuse from all over the world which was strewn across Village Bay.
BBC Radio Scotland's MacAulay and Co programme suggested that the National Trust for Scotland (NTS), which looks after the islands, should auction it.
A Japanese washing up liquid bottle and Canadian oil drum were also among 520 pieces of rubbish cleared away.
NTS staff filled 13 black bin bags from the 450m stretch of beach.
The 6.05 raised from the sale will go towards the trust's funds.
