Paul Roberts expects the walk will take him three months to complete |
A chef is walking from Inverness to his home city of Liverpool to raise funds for two young brothers who suffer from a genetic condition. Paul Roberts, 38, set off from the Highland capital on 17 May and had reached Clunes Forest by the weekend.
He expects to take three months to complete the trek in aid of Liverpool brothers Leonard and David Walker, who have the condition Friedrich's Ataxia.
The pair need 12,000 each to pay for stem cell treatment in Holland.
Mr Roberts, who has dubbed his venture Walking for Life, will use nine public trails during his 1,150-mile hike.
He found out about the brothers' plight when he read a notice about their appeal in a window of his local shop.
