An RAF helicopter and a mountain rescue team assisted the woman
A woman has been taken to hospital after suffering an injury while walking on Ben Nevis.

Northern Constabulary said the woman sustained an ankle injury as she walked with a group on the Tourist Path on Saturday afternoon.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and Rescue helicopter 137 from RAF Lossiemouth were alerted.

The casualty was taken to Belford Hospital, in Fort William, where she was treated for her injuries.

A police spokesman said: "The female's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening."
