Dry red soil is blown across the A96 on Tuesday |
Spectacular clouds of red dust have been blowing across the A96 in the Highlands. A combination of dry conditions and high winds has caused soil to be blown off cultivated fields along the route.
Among the areas affected have been at the Norbord wood mill on the outskirts of Inverness and a stretch of road between Nairn and Auldearn.
One dust cloud near Inverness on Saturday forced motorists to slow to 10mph and turn their headlights on.
