An event called Inverness is Pants will be among a series of art shows aimed at trying to get the public involved in a revamp of the city centre. A steel sea eagle will also swoop on the city's Church Street during the day-long programme organised by Highland Council.
The centre of Inverness is in line for almost 6m worth of improvements.
Imaging the Centre, which will run on 9 September, involves 14 Highland artists, writers and musicians.
Filmmakers and historians have also been brought on board.
The programme is being funded by the Inverness City Partnership with support from the Scottish Arts Council.
Local voices
Its aim is to get residents interested in a project to regenerate the city centre, make it more pedestrian-friendly and install new lighting and art pieces.
The council said one artist, Sarah Barnes, would be inviting people to air their views about the city through the medium of underwear during an event called Inverness is Pants.
There will also be sculptural installations, performance, audio art and murals.
A collage of local voices and opinions about Inverness will be broadcast during the event, which will be staged in Church Street.
