Contractors sacked over walk-out

A group of contractors at a power station in Fife have been sacked after taking unofficial industrial action.

About 20 workers employed by civil engineering company Malakoff walked off the job at Longannet after complaining about treatment from a supervisor.

The GMB union said they have since been dismissed by the company. Union officials are in talks with management about having them reinstated.

Nobody at Malakoff, with headquarters in Shetland, has been available.
