The Brand Street protest blocked the road |
Four people were taken into police custody after protesters blockaded an immigration office in Glasgow for almost five hours. The demonstration by the No Borders network was held at the Brand Street office from 0450 GMT as part of a day of action to highlight dawn raids.
Three protesters locked themselves to gates while another mounted a 15ft tripod and blocked the entrance.
Three men and a woman were arrested on breach of the peace charges.
The road was closed until 0940 GMT.
Mel Vegan, of the No Borders Network, claimed that the protest had caused disruption and stopped a dawn raid vehicle from leaving the immigration centre.
"We are very pleased with how it has gone," she said.
"We stopped one dawn raid van from going about its business which is good news in itself.
"This protest has hopefully drawn attention to the inhumane dawn raid system which is still continuing."
No Borders also blocked immigration reporting centres in Bristol, Portsmouth and Newcastle to coincide with the UN International Migrant's Day.
