Bogus callers rob elderly woman
An 89-year-old Glasgow woman has been left deeply upset and frightened after being targeted by three bogus builders, police said.

The men called at her home in Towerhill Road, Knightswood, at 1100 GMT on Wednesday - offering to fix her roof.

They demanded a four figure sum of money for the repair. One of the gang drove her to a bank to get cash.

Police have appealed for information and urged local people to beware of bogus callers.

Pc Colette McQuade from Drumchapel Police Office said: "This is a callous crime which has been committed against a vulnerable member of the local community which has left her deeply upset and frightened.

"I would warn other residents in the local area to be on their guard for such instances to prevent them from becoming the next victim."

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Drumchapel Police Office or Crimestoppers.
