Street death murder hunt launched
A murder inquiry has been launched after a 34-year-old man was fatally injured in Greenock.

Damien Muir was found in Inverkip Street at about 0130 BST on Saturday. Strathclyde Police said he was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

A spokesman said that after a post-mortem examination detectives were treating the death as murder.

Anyone who was in the area at the time or saw any disturbance has been asked to contact police.
