First Data will be based in this office in Glasgow's business district |
An e-commerce and payment services firm is to open in Glasgow's International Financial Services District in a move that will create 430 jobs. First Data International expects to create the posts in a contact centre over the next five years.
The firm has 6,700 employees in about 70 countries and serves 1,900 card issuers and their customers.
Deputy First Minister Nicol Stephen said Glasgow had secured First Data in the face of international competition.
"This will provide first class job opportunities for Glasgow as Scotland's financial services sector continues to grow," he said.
Simon Rubin, managing director of First Data's operations in the UK, said: "We were keen to identify a location that would offer us the ability to recruit additional teams of high calibre contact centre personnel as well as give us the opportunity for further expansion."
