A �1m appeal to help fit out a new veterans' care home has been launched. Erskine, a charity for ex-servicemen and women, plans to open a new residential building in Anniesland, Glasgow, next summer.
The purpose-built centre will provide 46 beds offering residential and long-term nursing care.
The charity is hoping to raise �1m to help create 10 en-suite rooms in the building to help make residents' lives more comfortable.
Erskine will cater for injured and infirm veterans from conflicts ranging from the Second World War to the Iraq conflict.
Glasgow's Lord Provost Liz Cameron launched the appeal.
"Erskine needs the help of the people of Glasgow to make this project happen," she said.
Erskine, which celebrated its 90th anniversary this year, looks after 270 ex-servicemen and women, aged between 22 and 99-years-old.
Charity chief executive Colonel Martin Gibson said: "We have always relied on the generosity of the Scottish public to fund our special care for veterans of all ages and we value their support."
